A slender cherry lamp with an elegant and minimal shape, the top section is painted in an opaque off white, and where the white butts against the rich cherry timber I find it to be one of the most satisfying combinations of shape and colour and so close to the Barbara Hepworth sculptures that originally inspired me , cherry has such a wonderfully warm tone. The upright joins neatly and simply to the base, a small ledge on the base has a simple red ring to mark the join, the base has a very gentle arc and runs to a raised ring which is painted in a washy white with thin turquoise blue lines evenly spaced around the edge. This lamp is photographed with a 23cm linen shade the simplicity of the colour scheme and shape means many shade options could be considered as well as plain linen., and shade sizes 20cm to 26cm sized shades could also be considered. It is wired with dark blue twisted cable, has a black in line switch and a black plug.
